The benefits of being a guardian

At Misty Mountain Labradoodles, all of our breeding dogs live in loving homes,  not kennels. They are cherished family pets, raised in homes across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, and treated as part of the family every single day.

Our Guardianship Program is truly a win-win. You receive a top quality, multi-generational Australian Labradoodle as your family pet and we retain breeding rights for a limited time (up to five years, typically two litters and occasionally up to three) before desexing and transferring full ownership to you

💛 What Misty Mountain Provides

• A carefully selected breeding-quality Australian Labradoodle puppy for a quarter of the cost to you
• Comprehensive health testing at around 6 months (at our expense) 
• All expenses associated with breeding and whelping 
• Feeding, worming and flea/tick prevention while your dog is in our care 
• The cost of desexing at the end of the breeding program 
• Ongoing guidance and support throughout the guardianship journey

If a dog does not pass health testing, they are desexed and become fully yours, ending the guardianship agreement

🐶 What Our Guardian Families Provide

• A loving, secure home environment
• Premium food (as recommended by us) 
• Routine worming and flea/tick prevention 
• Regular grooming and coat care 
• Safe confinement when in season (for females) 
• Formal training — four one-on-one sessions are required (this is non-negotiable) 
• Early and positive socialisation during the first 12 months 
• Day-to-day veterinary expenses not related to breeding 
• Transport to us or our selected reproductive vets when required

For females, your girl will remain with you for most of her pregnancy, coming to us 8–10 days before her due date and staying until puppies are weaned at around 5 weeks

For males, they are required only on an “as needed” basis a few times per year
